Amber and Jarred, September 2018, The Loews Hotel, Philadelphia, PA

Sometimes I get really excited to work with a client.  I hear them describe their perfect wedding day – the colors they want to use, the type of venue, what kind of flowers they love – and I see the details coming together in my head and can imagine how gorgeous it will look.  When I met Bride Amber in Spring of 2017 and she described the vision she had for wedding day (A FLOWER WALL WAS A MUST!), I could see the details coming to life and got really excited to be the Planner she choose to work with.  What is awesome about my job is sometimes the vision the client has or what I see in my head exceeds both of our expectations and you end up with a what Amber and her now husband Jarred’s wedding day became – a glamorous, gorgeous detail filled wedding day recognized in the pages of Modern Luxury Weddings Philadelphia  (We have wanted to share the photos from Amber and Jarred’s wedding for awhile but with the news that they were going to be featured by Modern Luxury, we had to wait for the issue to be released.  The wait was definitely worth it though!)

Sometimes clients get nervous when they hire us to help with planning their wedding – they fear we will “take over the planning process”.   We tell them – “do not worry about this ever!”.  Our role in the process can be whatever they want and with as much or little help as they desire!  For example, while some clients may need a very hands on Wedding Planner,  Amber really enjoyed planning the wedding and most importantly wanted someone to keep the details moving along, help find vendors she maybe couldn’t secure on her own and keep things organized between the venue and the vendors.  Upon hiring us, Amber and Jarred had already secured their venue –  the Loews Philadelphia Hotel – for their September 2018 wedding.  With views of the entire city, the couple fell in love with the venue’s 33rd floor which would be the location for the ceremony and cocktail hour and for dinner and dancing, the venue’s Millennium ballroom was the perfect backdrop for the glamorous reception Amber was envisioning.  With the venue secured, I worked alongside Amber to put together the dream wedding professional team.  Amber fell in love with the work of Florist and Designer Eilena from Event Loft and Photographer Joshua Dwain on Instagram and thankfully they were available for her wedding date.   With a request for a DJ  that “would bring the party” and be able to play Caribbean music (to honor Groom Jarred’s family), we happily matched the couple up with one of our favorites – Jean Jacques from Eclectic Entertainment.   For ceremony music, Amber and Jarred hired Kendrah Butler.  Just B Beautiful provided hair and make-up services for Amber and her Bridal Party, InstaGlamour Photobooth provided reception entertainment and Y Dingle Arts captured the wedding day memories on video for the couple.  For stationary items for the wedding – invitations and day of signage – April Lynn Designs was the perfect fit to put Amber’s black, white and gold vision to paper.

As captured in the gorgeous photos by Joshua Dwain, wedding day for Amber and Jarred was perfect from the First Look inside the Loews (we love the stairs in the venue to capture this intimate, special moment) to cake cutting in front of the venue’s bank vault to the Glam photos of the couple taken at the end of the night.   What the wedding photos don’t capture is how beautiful and sweet Amber and Jarred’s family and friends are – Amber’s Mom Kim was very involved in the planning process and after spending time with Amber and her helping to plan the wedding, it was so special to see them share in the wedding day morning getting ready together.  (Don’t tell Amber, but I may or may not have started a fan club for her Dad! hahaha)  I feel so blessed to have been a part of Amber and Jarred’s wedding planning, to have had the opportunity to meet the couple and get to know Amber personally and be able to share in their excitement in having their wedding details recognized in print.  They had a dream vendor team and a gorgeous venue and I can’t wait to be able to work at and with any and all of them in the future.  Thank you Amber and Jarred for putting so much trust in my team and me on wedding day and I will truly miss the Wegman’s planning meetings!  Congrats from Diamonds and Details!

Lulu and Scott, April 2019, The Cira Cenre Atrium at JG Domestic, Philadelphia, PA

6 months before her wedding, Bride Lulu reached out to Diamonds and Details to help with managing her wedding day.  After a few emails back and forth and a phone call, Lulu and I hit it off and she decided to move forward with securing her wedding date of April 20th, 2019.   Lulu and her fiancé Scott – self described “foodies” (Groom Scott is actually a very talented chef in Philadelphia!) wanted to work with a Caterer that would allow them to design their menu and food service around their likes and style.  Thankfully, they found a perfect fit with Garces Events and fell in love with their venue the Cira Centre at JG Domestic.  (We have worked at the venue several times and it’s always a favorite for our team!)

One of the most common questions we get from interested Brides and Grooms is what is the difference between your “More Than a Day of Details – Customized Planning” and “”Day of Details – Wedding Coordination” services?  The main difference we say is that “wedding coordination” does not involve any help with securing your venue and/or wedding day professionals.  Every now and then though, one of our “Day of Details” clients does reach out and ask for “Help!” as they find themselves without a vendor and wedding day is quickly approaching.  Unfortunately, Lulu found herself months before the wedding in need of a florist, transportation, video and hair and make-up.  Thankfully, she was able to find an amazing florist on her own (Devon and Pinkett rocked the “Great Gatsby” theme and style Lulu wanted to capture!) but we were happy to help with connecting her with a video, transportation and hair and make-up professional who all ended up being a perfect match!

With a 1st look at Waterworks and the quintessential Broad Street photo,  Lulu and Scott had a picture perfect, very Philadelphia wedding day!  Photographer Martin Reardon captured every little detail of the couple’s day and really showed how the wedding was a fun party that was all about celebrating with their closest friends and family.  (Speaking of family, we love how Lulu and Scott really made them part of the wedding – Scott’s Father Joe Calhoun (For our Lancaster friends – Yes!  It’s that Joe – NBC’s top weather guy!) was one of the Groomsmen and Lulu’s Grandma was the “Flower Girl”.)   Helping to  keep the party going was EBE Entertainment who provided cocktail musicians and DJ services for wedding day.

We are so lucky to have had the opportunity to be along for the fun ride with Lulu and Scott on wedding day!  We loved working with them and seeing all of Lulu’s details come together perfectly.  The couple has another wedding planned in China this summer and we can’t wait to see how they top the fun from this one (hello donuts and churros for dessert!)!  Congrats to Lulu and Scott – Diamonds and Details wishes you many delicious meals in the future!

Rebecca and Anthony, January 2019, Waterworks by Cescaphe – Philadelphia, PA

You may have heard me say more than once (maybe a lot!) that it is never too early to book us for Wedding Day Management.  Our “Day of Details” package includes communication with your Day of Coordinator from the day you sign your contract up until wedding day so even if you aren’t looking for customized wedding planning, you still feel like you have a Wedding Planner available to ask questions concerning wedding day items.  Bride and Groom Anthony and Rebecca reached out to me in summer of 2017 to discuss my different packages and what would work best for them.   Even though they had over a year and half till their January 2019 wedding, they wanted to make sure they had someone booked to help with those wedding day questions, the final details of their wedding planning process as well as someone hired to make sure wedding day went smoothly.   Since the couple was enjoying wedding planning and did not need assistance with finding their wedding day vendors, our “Day of Details” package was a perfect fit for their needs.  (If you are wondering what the difference is between “customized wedding planning” and “wedding day management” – email me at  I would be happy to send over our brochures that details everything!)

As I told the couple many times during our communication over the 17 or so months till their wedding day, the planning process would go very quick and before we all knew it, it was January 12th, 2019 and wedding day for Anthony and Rebecca!  As I mentioned, Anthony and Rebecca did all the wedding planning on their own and secured an amazing team of wedding professionals for us to work alongside with.  First, they choose a gorgeous venue to host their wintry wedding day – Waterworks by Cescaphe, which overlooks the Schuylkill River and Boathouse Row and offers clients the service and menu of their exclusive caterer Cescaphe.   We have actually worked with Cescaphe on several weddings (with more to come in 2019!) and knew that Rebecca and Anthony’s food and reception service was in good hands with the Cescaphe team.  For the entertainment and decor, the couple choose Tom from Party Time Entertainment (the dance floor was packed all night!) and Beautiful Blooms to design the seasonal look of the wedding.  Mike from Michael Simons Video Productions was amazing to work with for video for the day and we can’t say enough about the gorgeous photos from Dave Shay Photography.   We can’t be sure but we think Dave and Mike may have been a little too excited for the snow to start falling and getting to shoot the Bride and Groom in the winter weather.

As the girls on my team know very well, I personally am not a fan of winter and the company does not take on many winter weddings because of the fear of bad weather, driving in the snow, etc.  I am so happy I did not let this fear of the elements keep me from working with Rebecca and Anthony.  They were so grateful for my assistance throughout the entire time I had to work with them and even on wedding day and after showed their appreciation to my team and myself.  Thank you to Rebecca and Anthony for choosing Diamonds and Details as your Wedding Day Management team and for allowing us to share in your beautiful wedding day and meet your family and friends.  We are so excited for what the future brings you and wish you many, many days of (warm, snow free – haha) happiness!

Lydia and Tim, November 2018, The Warrington Country Club – Warrington, PA

In February of 2018, Judy reached out to Diamonds and Details for help with her grandson Tim’s and his fiancé Lydia’s November wedding.  With a busy schedule and family out of state, Judy felt Bride Lydia would benefit from having someone professional to step in and finalize all the planning details as well as make wedding day a little less stressful for everyone.  After going over exactly what their needs were over email and on the phone, Judy and I decided that the couple would benefit from a customized planning package (which includes wedding day management) and we scheduled an in person consultation, something we offer to all clients interested in our planning services.  I met with Judy and her daughter (Tim’s aunt) Aimee to go over wedding day, their specific needs, and how Diamonds and Details could really help bring all the details together for Lydia and Tim.  From the very first minutes of sitting down with Aimee and Judy, I loved both of them and their personalities!  I understood their concerns and needs – most importantly that Lydia and Tim were ultimately the decision makers for the entire rest of the planning process – something I reassured them would be a definite and was always my working style (when it comes to my clients, it’s always their wedding, not mine!).  Thankfully, Judy and Aimee wanted to move forward with Diamonds and Details and after a Skype call with Lydia and Tim to make sure they also liked my personality, we made things 100% official!

What I love about our customized planning services is that clients can utilize Diamonds and Details help at any stage of the planning process. When Judy hired me to help Lydia and Tim, they had already booked a venue and some of their wedding day professionals.  (Lucky for us the couple chose the Warrington Country Club as their reception venue – a new favorite venue of Diamonds and Details!)  Judy requested that I help her with the final vendor bookings, including wedding day transportation and hotel accommodations as well as making sure all the other vendors had the most updated timing and logistics for wedding day.  Part of my services also included face to face consultation time where I was able to meet with Lydia and Tim at some final detail meetings with their venue and florist to help with design and wedding day decisions.

With special thanks to the team at Warrington Country Club, Pat at Bucks County Roses and Dave at Sound Choice DJs, wedding day went perfectly for Lydia and Tim.  Thanks to photographers The Artist Group for sharing their wedding photos and for braving the November cold to get so many beautiful outside photos at Warrington Country Club – a request of Lydia and Tim for wedding day.  (Lydia deserves a special prize for taking all these photos in a sleeveless dress and still looking amazing!)

We want to send Lydia and Tim congrats and many happy wishes in the future!  A very special thank you goes out to Grandma Judy and Aunt Aimee for trusting Diamonds and Details with your family’s wedding and allowing us to add the details to the day!

Kristin and Travis, October 2018, Private Farm Residence – Coatesville, Pa

In November of 2017, Bride Kristin and her mother Renee contacted Diamonds and Details to help with planning Kristin and her fiancé Travis’ wedding at Kristin’s family farm in Coatesville, PA.  While planning a wedding, especially at a non-traditional venue (think no power, running water, etc.) can be a challenge, Kristin and Travis were also new parents to a baby boy, so making the planning process as easy and stress free as possible was the goal for everyone involved.  Over the 10 years of planning weddings, thankfully, farm and private residence weddings have become a speciality of the company, so I was happy to take on this challenge for Kristin and Travis.

In order to bring to life a wedding at a venue that has never hosted a wedding before, you need the right team of professionals to bring all the pieces together.  Kristin’s vision for the wedding included an early fall timeframe to highlight the look of the farm during that time of year, with accents of navy, pinks, gold and burgundy.  Even though dinner and dancing would be in a tent in the middle of a field, Kristin still wanted an elegant sit down dinner for her wedding guests.  To fulfill both requests, I partnered Travis and Kristin with two of my favorite vendors and two of the best when its comes to these types of weddings – Sage Catering and Maura Rose Floral Design and Events.  With the venue being a family farm and so personal to the Bride especially, it was very important that I find Kristin and Travis the perfect photographer to capture the day.  As a Wedding Planner, a huge part of your job is to match clients with the perfect vendor and sometimes you just have to trust your gut that this florist or this photographer will be the right match for your client.  From my very first meeting with Kristin, I had a feeling she would love Dave Waddell of Siousca Photography.  (Dave had worked with Diamonds and Details on a private residence/farm wedding a few years ago and even though it poured rain the entire day, his photos of the wedding were magical!)  Lucky for me, Kristin loved Dave’s work and wanted to move forward with booking him for wedding day.  What I didn’t know when I referred Dave to Kristin, was that he actually had a personal relationship with the farm already, as it was previously owned by his wife’s family and he had spent time taking photos all over the property!  (Of course, this was a very big Wedding Planner win! haha)

With a little over a year of planning, a very trusting Bride and Mother of Bride (Thank you Kristin and Renee for believing me when I said “I got this!”) and a lot of vendors going above and beyond when needed, thankfully all the details came together perfectly for Travis and Kristin and their family farm wedding day!  Thanks to Dave from Siousca Photography for sharing the gorgeous photos that captured all the fun, and of course beautiful details of the day!   We wish Travis and Kristin and their son Hudson many happy memories ahead!   Thank you for letting us be part of your special day!

Ellen and Bill, September 2018, Private Residence – Chadds Fords, PA

A new city, a new home and a new engagement – Bride Ellen reached out to Diamonds and Details in January looking for assistance in planning her wedding.  She and her fiancé Bill had just bought a new home in Chadds Ford and really wanted to be able to host their small group of family and friends in their backyard for the wedding.  Being new to the area, (Ellen and Bill are originally from the Boston area – yup, they are Patriot fans but as a Giants fan, I of course, did not hold this against them.) Ellen expressed that she knew no-one in the area and had no idea where to start planning a wedding, let alone a wedding at her home.  I was happy to ease Ellen’s concerns and let her know that planning private residence weddings was a specialty of Diamonds and Details!

After a walk through at Ellen and Bill’s home in February and learning more about Ellen’s vision and requests for the wedding, we matched the couple up with Bernadette from Jimmy Duffy Catering.  We knew Bernadette and her team would be perfect to mesh both the needs of a home wedding as well as design an elegant and formal dinner menu, a top priority of Ellen’s for the wedding.  To avoid any Plan B’s that required the wedding having to move inside their home, we referred Ellen and Bill to Tents for Rent to help with the design and install of a tent and dance floor in the backyard.  From the very beginning of the planning process with Ellen, she always expressed that she wanted her wedding day to be about she and Bill and their long-term relationship, their family and close friends and celebrating this new home for the couple.  It was very important that I find a photographer who could capture the intimate, special moments and meaning of the day.  Audrey of Audrey Amaro Photography was definitely my first choice for the couple.  Audrey specializes in photographing the people and emotions of wedding day as well as all the details that bring the wedding day vision to life.  Making the day every more personal and intimate was how Ellen incorporated many DIY details to the wedding – her aunt made her ring box, her step-daughter helped put together the signature drink bar, in lieu of a guest book, Ellen had guests sign stones with well wishes and their names (an Irish wedding tradition and ode to Ellen’s heritage) and guests tables were named after favorite places of Ellen and Bill and designated by ornaments the couple had collected over the years together.

We feel honored that Ellen and Bill choose Diamonds and Details to be part of their special day and allowed us to put together a very trusted team of vendors for them and some of our favorites to refer to clients – Weddings by Paul, Matlack Florist, Bridal Beauty by Laura, BVT Live, Philadelphia Trolley Works, The Master’s Baker and  With the wedding now over and a new home to celebrate many more memories in, we wish nothing but more happiness and fun for Ellen and Bill in the future!   Thank you again for letting us put the details together for your day!

Hannah and Steve, September 2018, Duportail House, Chesterbrook, PA

Sometimes, a “No” from someone else because a very lucky “YES” for us – Bride Hannah was referred to Diamonds and Details from another Planner who was booked her wedding weekend.  Hannah and her Groom Steve were getting married over Labor Day weekend and needed some assistance with wedding day management, setting up her DIY decor and overall final detail assistance.   Holiday weekends are usually very tight with availability for our team, but thankfully we still had Hannah and Steve’s date open and could help them with their wedding day.   After hearing all of Hannah’s ideas for the wedding, we knew that Diamonds and Details was meant to be part of this wedding!

Hannah and Steve wanted a very casual, family and friend centered wedding day. (You know we love a non-traditional, “offbeat” wedding!)  To help with establishing this feel, they chose the historic Duportail House which offered a gorgeous backdrop with both inside and outside options for their guests to mingle around.  For the ceremony, they planned an intimate Quaker self-uniting service with only a select number of family present.  (Our team even stepped away from witnessing the ceremony and focused on set-up so the couple could really have the intimate feel they wanted with the closest people in their lives.)  Guests were invited to arrive to the wedding after the ceremony time and were greeted with lawn games, light appetizers and drinks and casual seating.  In lieu of a traditional sit down dinner, Hannah and Steve booked food trucks to feed their guests (the couple currently hold the title of “Best Vendor Meal” ever!).  After dinner (and to include a little wedding tradition in the day), Hannah and Steve invited their guests inside the venue for their cake cutting (hello sprinkle cake!!!) and 1st dance, followed by a surprise – an ice cream and water ice truck to serve dessert (with music playing and all!)

Even though it was a more casual and laid back wedding, Hannah had a very specific vision and feel she wanted for the day.  The decor and centerpieces were all designed by Hannah and her Mom and even featured a surprise balloon decor element by Party Store of Berwyn, a gift from Hannah’s Mom.  (Much love to my team – Katie and Maygan for rocking the DIY set-up!)  My favorite part of Hannah and Steve’s wedding was the elements the Bride personally designed and created for the wedding – the signage, wedding invitation, glassware and paper products.  (While we do claim to have the most beautiful Brides in the business, we also may have the most talented as well as Hannah is the owner of “Attitude & Gratitude” a stationery and design business on Etsy!)  We feel lucky that Hannah and Steve trusted us to bring their causal, DIY wedding to life and share in such a special day with their closest family and friends.  We also have to give major kudos to the very talented group of professionals the couple hired to help us bring all the details together for them, especially Amanda and her wife Jordan from Swiger Photography.  As Hannah and Steve’s wedding photos show, they truly captured all the details and personal elements of the day perfectly!

Congrats to Hannah and Steve!  Your wedding day details (and food truck dinner) will continue to be a favorite of Diamonds and Details!  Thank you for letting us add the details to your day!

Serena and Mike, August 2018, Mission Taqueria Resteraunt, Philadelphia, PA

A nontraditional venue, a REALLY good photographer, a Bride and Groom down for anything, tacos for dinner and a “dog of honor” – definitely the making of a very cool, offbeat wedding day that we had the privilege of coordinating this summer for Bride and Groom Serena and Mike.

We met the couple in May of 2018 when Serena reached out for some help with coordinating her wedding day and helping to set up her DIY decor.  Serena and Mike decided to take their first date featuring tacos and turn it into their theme for their wedding day fiesta and chose Mission Taqueria as the host for their “offbeat wedding”.  An “offbeat wedding” (one we define as being a little different and unique and/or features a nontraditional venue or theme) is a favorite of Diamonds and Details.  Serena and Mike’s theme of  “Wedding…and some tacos” was definitely “offbeat” in our eyes and we loved having the opportunity to work with them to help bring all the details together on wedding day.

A very important detail to Serena and Mike was finding the right photographer to capture their nontraditional vision.  Serena and Mike trusted their wedding day photos to photographer James Webb Photography.  James was truly able to capture all of the photo requests the Bride and Groom brought to him specifically the first look at the Boathouse in FDR Park and wedding party photos in a skatepark.  As a nontraditional venue, Mission Taqueria offered a unique, yet limited layout for Serena and Mike to work with to host the ceremony and reception.  James really worked his magic to capture the venue’s space as well as highlight all of the decor details Serena added to the wedding to capture her fiesta theme.   One of our favorite photos from wedding day is of Serena and Mike on Broad Street (a very popular wedding day spot for photos in Philadelphia.)  We love how James was able to blend the traditional while still capturing  Serena and Mike’s personalities and the fun theme of their wedding day!

Thank you to Serena and Mike for asking us to help with coordinating your wedding and the opportunity to meet your family and friends.  We love when clients like to step out of the box and really bring themselves into the wedding day details which you truly were able to do!  We wish you both much luck and many margarita and taco dates in the future!

Becca and Stan, June 2018, Christ Church and Knowlton Mansion, Philadelphia, PA

In April of 2017, I received an email from Bride Becca who was looking for assistance with planning her wedding as her family did not live in state and she really wanted someone to work alongside her to put all the details together.   After meeting with Becca (who had just gotten engaged literally days before our meeting), I knew that she was the perfect Diamonds and Details client!  She and I also had a lot in common which also makes the planning process even more fun.  I was excited that Becca felt the same way and hired Diamonds and Details for our full planning services.

Becca and I started the planning process with a venue search – Becca wanted a little bit of a unique venue  – if possible, located in or close to Center City Philadelphia, have a romantic feel, is classic and traditional but had somewhat of a rustic look as well and also – air conditioning!  (Becca told me several times she did not want to sweat if all possible on wedding day!)  After visiting about 7 or so venues, Becca and her fiancé Stan fell in love with Knowlton Mansion.  The venue seemed to cross off all of their wants while also offering top-notch catering by their in-house caterer, Conroy Catering, so not only would the venue look the part, but the food would taste great and the service on wedding night would be perfect!  With the date picked and the venue booked, the next step was to piece together the couple’s perfect team of wedding day professionals.

For photography, Becca and Stan hired Jaime and Lincoln from Bartlett Pair Photography.  This husband/wife team totally got Becca’s vision of wanting a classic and elegant Philadelphia wedding but also found a way to really capture the fun side of the couple.  From shooting their engagement photos around the city to capturing all the sweet, intimate moments from the ceremony at Christ Church and finally capturing all the special details from the reception at Knowlton, Jaime and Lincoln really brought together the story of Becca and Stan’s relationship.  Also putting their touch on Becca and Stan’s wedding day story was their florist – Lauren from Belovely, their band Midnight Hour (they actually played Becca’s brother’s wedding), stationery designers LoveLeigh Invitations and Top Knots by Aimee and Shimmer and Spice for all the wedding day beauty.  (As we get closer to wedding day, Becca reached out to me and asked if I could help find her a lighting professional as she really wanted to add a little bit of a wow factor to the area of the venue that her cake would be placed.  Enter – Lumos Co. who specializes in this sort of extra for wedding day.  As Bartlett Pair’s photos show, Becca was right on point with this addition – the lighting from Lumos perfectly highlighted the wedding cake and made the cake cutting photos even more memorable!)

We can’t say enough how much fun it was to work with Becca and Stan to help plan their wedding day.  Diamonds and Details only takes on a limited number of full planning clients a year, so having such a memorable experience working with Becca only makes this job even more special.  An extra bonus of working with our clients is when we are able to see our work and our client’s vision come to life online and/or in print.  A fun surprise this week was seeing Becca and Stan’s wedding featured on Philly in Love!  Congrats to Becca and Stan on a beautiful wedding day!  Thank you for choosing Diamonds and Details to be a part of your wedding story!

The Details on….The Diamonds and Details Team! Meet Maygan!

Has it really been July since our last “Give Me More Details!” post?  Forgive us!  Wedding season has officially taken over the details!  We promise to share more wedding recaps and photos from this season’s weddings in the very near future but until then we are excited to wrap up our company introductions by presenting the details on…Maygan!

With over 5 years of experience as a member of the Diamonds and Details team, Maygan has become Amanda’s “can’t live without” girl on wedding day.  Whether it be parallel  parking Amanda’s car in the city or running 3 city blocks in a record 5 minutes to Rite Aid for an emergency kit item, Maygan has no limitations as to what she can or will do!  Clients look to Maygan for a calm face during stressful moments on wedding day or even just for a tissue or to hold their bouquet during photos.  What she may be best known for is our company “kid and puppy wrangler” as Maygan is known for finding very unique was to get a toddler or even a puppy down the aisle!

MEET: Maygan Henzie, Assistant Day of Coordinator at Diamonds and Details

Maygan working her magic at one of our Wedding Showcases

Maygan has always loved weddings, whether it be as a guest at one or being behind the scenes – weddings always seemed to be her thing.  While it college, Maygan started interning with Diamond and Details in 2013 and has remained with the team ever since!  Maygan loves watching all the details come together and is most excited when she sees the team’s hard work pay off as the client walks down the aisle!  (Maygan also says that the client down the aisle is the time she breathes a sigh of relief on wedding day!)

Maygan’s favorite wedding trend is: dog attendees!  As a dog lover herself, (Maygan has 3 dogs – 2 Chihuahuas and 1 Pomeranian) she thinks including dogs in the ceremony or as guests of the wedding makes the day truly special.  “If you really want all the people who you love and who love you there…who loves you more than your puppies!” says Maygan.

The age-old question of “what’s your favorite venue” didn’t stump Maygan for a second – “The Horticultural Center in Philadelphia – You can’t go wrong with the perfect garden ceremony followed by a plant-filled reception inside the greenhouse.  And the photos? Perfection – especially if you can catch those cherry blossoms in bloom!”

Like many of the Diamonds and Details staff – Maygan’s favorite part of the wedding day is the first look – “There are so many aspects that go into planning a wedding and it’s great to see a couple forget everything when they see each other for the first time!  This special time between the bride and the groom helps melt away all the nerves of the day to come.”

Maygan escorting one of our Brides to her 1st Look Photo

After 5 years of working with the Diamonds and Details team and seeing her friends and family plan their weddings (some she has personally helped with), her one piece of advice to all couples is “HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER!”  Maygan feels that in order for Brides and Grooms to truly enjoy every aspect of their day they need to let someone else deal with the details and hiccups.  Maygan might be a little bit of an expert on dealing with wedding day hiccups as she personally has watched a groomsman step off the bus at the ceremony location and rip his entire pant leg. She, of course, jumped into action, sewed the pant leg from belt buck to knee and got the groomsmen down the aisle fully clothed!
